Compared to last week, slaughter cows 1.00 to 2.00 higher, bulls
mostly steady.
Feeder steers and bulls under 500 lbs. 1.00 higher,
over 500 lbs. 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs.
1.00
to 2.00 higher, over 500 lbs. 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Demand on
feeders very good. Fleshy and long haired calves discounted
5.00 to
10.00. Demand mostly on thin calves in good condition for grazing.
Replacement cows too few to trend. Supply
consisted of 12 percent
slaughter cows; bulls 2 percent; Replacement cows and pairs 4
percent; Feeder cattle 82 percent of which 6 percent were over 600
lbs. In the feeder supply 6 percent
were steers, 49 percent bulls
and 45 percent heifers.
